The location of the villa is above Menaggio, 2km from the centre of the village, only 300 metres or 5 or 7 minutes walk to the most famous golf club in Italy, the Menaggio golf is where George Clooney and the rest hang out when they are on the lake, has a great atmosphere next to a 100 year old clubhouse and a top-course. It also has the best restaurant on the lake and it is not poshy at all, actually very pleasantly relaxed.

The villa is along the road from Menaggio to Porlezza on Lake Lugano, the distance to the road is some 6 to 7 metres and it runs at a lower level then the stone wall, it overlooks Menaggio and the lake on the North, East and South side including the alps on the north side and a mountain (Crocione) on the West side. It also overlooks the neigbouring villa’s garden, also a beautiful villa.

This stately home is built in 1888 as the sign shows on the frontside, it probably already existed before as the lower part of the villa there are older features, it has spectacular views on the lake. It has been compeletely restored in 2006 and 2007 to give it back its old glory. The plasterwork, affrescos, floors and features have been all restored by specialized workers and artists, to restore in the original manners. A nice pool was built as well during this process, 8m. by 4 m.

The outside area has the following features : there is an remote controlled electric gate (this is the original gate installed more then 120 years ago), a walk-gate, an antiqe cast-iron fountain, an antique BBQ, a 4m * 8m pool in style with the house, two 30metres high cyprus-trees at the frontside, a 12 m high palm-tree right between them, the property is all fenced off with stone or concrete walls and a long antique cast-iron fence on the front. The pavement is original outside (all in stone and marble) with the initials of the first owner of the villa at the, again, original main impressive entrance door. It is fully lighted with new but in style cast-iron lamps. The property has a gas-connection to the city-gas, a gasoline central heater in the basement and it is attached to the city-sewers, the electric system has been re-wired in 2007. There are several sun-loungers and brand new complete garden furniture.
