Farm Holiday vacation rentals in Tuscany near Arezzo

Our property is situated at the door of the Casentino valley rich in history and tradition. The area boasts a profusion of Romanesque parish churches scattered in an unspoiled countryside. Not to mention the gastronomic delights, the castles, the well-known Della Robbia glazed terracotta, places related to Dante and spiritual destinations such as the Camaldoli Hermitage and La Verna sanctuary. The Casentino valley is an oasis of greenery and includes the suggestive Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi.

 In the past the local farmers used to give places particular names according to their distinctive features. This site was named L'Agriturismo which means “the well”, because of the large quantity of water present in the underground springs which flow on the hill. That’s the reason why our logo depicts the characteristic old well which was discovered in our park and other water springs too.

The housing complex is the result of a long, demanding restoration aimed at striking the right balance between the typical peasant tradition and the needs of modern life.

The apartments: The apartments are located in two stone farmhouses. Near the edge of the woods there is the largest farmhouse with the common dining area and the shop on the ground floor; on the lower portion of the knoll stands the other farmhouse.

They comprise five and three apartments respectively. Each unit has an independent entry, original niches and other particulars, bathroom with shower box, special furnishings and a characteristic fireplace in the sitting room.

In addition, modern amenities include air-conditioning, heating, satellite TV, telephone and an outlet for Internet connection (not available at the moment).

IN EACH BATHROOM:hair dryier, shower cabin.

IN EACH KITCHEN/KITCHNETTE: 2/4 electric griddle (for your safety), dishwashing, fridge, microwave, toast, water boiler, moka (italian coffee machine), a set with: plates, cups (for tea, milk and coffee), glasses (for water and wine), cutlery set, pots, frying pans...

OUTDOOR: each apartment has a own outdoor area (table and chairs) near of the apt entry. Near of common areas there are barbecue points.

There is also a laundry point (washer, drier).

The houses at Agriturismo are representative of peasant constructions and we have attempted to maintain the original warmth of this rural enclave through the use of original materials and characteristics.

Our guests will experience relaxing evenings in the warmth and friendliness of our property, going back to the past when no kind of entertainment was known and people were happy just to stay with friends. In the adjoining room you will be able to stay in front of the fireplace. In the shop there is a wide range of delicious appetizing products: olive oil produced in our own farm, vegetables of our garden, fine Tuscan wines. It is also possible to buy typical products of farms one can trusts.

Our park is the ideal place for doing a lot of activities, living nature in every single aspect. At disposal of our guests there is a swimming pool for relaxing moments and one suitable for children in the near proximity.

It is also possible to take part in some activities to better understand the way of life, the customs of the peasant tradition: Sport Tennis grounds, five- a –side football field, beach-volley field and volley fields, fishing lakes and canoing are just few minutes drive away. 3km far from the property there is a fitness centre.

15 km far there is an exclusive golf field with 9 holes of Golf Club Poppi situated in Casentino, a village rich in history and famous for the castle. The legend says it was taken as a model for the construction of Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza Signoria in Florence.

Entertainment: In the summertime many village festivals take place. For young people we recommend Arezzo and the Chiana valley.

Art and culture: We are favourably located to reach the most famous cities of art. In the next surroundings you could visit Arezzo, Francesco Petrarca and many others renowned artist's land. Cortona, Firenze, Siena and Perugia can be reached easily..

“Welcome in Casentino” is an association dealing with the organization of events such as cultural tours, birdwatching, fishing, kayak, enogastronomic tours, mountain bike tours, trekking and riding.

Furthermore, at the Arezzo Equestrian Centre you will be able to take part to international equestrian events. We'll be there for any suggestions about the organization of your tour around these places.
